This project is a sixth grade mathematics unit which integrates the history of Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest and utilizes resources from the Library of Congress.

A walk through Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest is a journey back in time through a wilderness land with towering trees that are over 400 years old. Some of the giant yellow poplars are over 20 feet in circumference and stand 100 feet tall. The floor of the forest is adorned with a garden of wildflowers, ferns, mushrooms, leaf covered trails, and moss-covered logs.
