Creating a Power Point Presentation to Display What You Have Learned
 

Objectives:

Focus and Review:
Students will review what they have learned about the Depression through reading Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, and through other sources such as the Library of Congress.

Teacher Input:
Students will be required to set up a Power Point presentation which includes the following components:

Guided Practice:
Students will go to the media center computer lab, and will be guided through the process of creating their presentations.

Independent Practice:
Students will be required to analyze the text of To Kill a Mockingbird to find details relevant to their project.  Students will be responsible for notes on the effects of the Depression both regionally and nationally.  They will be expected to be able to navigate relevant web sites with effectiveness and ease at this point to find their information.  Students will present their presentations in the lecture hall on the available large screen.

Closure:
Students will come to a better understanding of the effects of the Depression on our region and the nation, and will learn to analyze a fictional work of literature for historical elements.
